Q: Name your Top Ten list of poker blogs.

BD: Ok - I don’t like the words “top” and “ten”, because my tastes change from time to time. Bloggers appear, fade and suddenly come back out of nowhere with great stuff. To say someone is a “top” blogger I think takes away from all the others who, from time to time, put some great stuff out there. And “ten” because I just blew a whole bunch of time going through my google-reader feeds to try and figure out my top ten. So I’m going to say what I’m giving here are the five blogs that I currently look forward to seeing new posts.

I’ll also preface all of these by saying I read poker blogs to hear about how people’s lives are going, pokerwise and otherwise. I also read them to get a good laugh. At this point in my ‘poker life’ I rarely come across strategy or hand history posts that do much for me.

1) MiamiDon: Don got a rough start on life and now he is telling us about it with some compelling reads. His regular writing about the Vegas life is also interesting. I’m not a sports better, but I am a fan of sports (cough New England Rules cough). Some of Don’s picks are based more on his own second guessing of posted odds which I appreciate from a strategic point of view - even when he picks the Red Sox to lose.

2) UncleBracelet: I will put Bobby in the ‘get a good laugh’ category. He rarely disappoints. It is true - you cannot stop the bracelet.

3) Hoy Synopsis: again - laughs. Hoy is an interesting guy but his posts are sooo friggen long.

4) BuddyDankRadio - after Mook’s steady live-blogging (inspired by live-blog jediMaster Pauly), BuddyDankRadio is the latest best creation of our poker blog-o-sphere (I hate that word, but here I am using it). I wish he could get it closer to real time (I hear it on about a one hand delay). I think we need to run a charity tourney so that Buddy can upgrade his rig to make this possible. Either that or Fuel can donate his wins from a single hand of $5000/$10000.

5) BadBlood: BB is brutally honest about his own poker play. With a few minor differences (I’m not into Death/Thrash/Heavy/Metal and my “guns’ are more like pipe cleaners) his outlook on life is very similar to my own.

Q: What would you do with all your extra time if online poker was suddenly made illegal and there were no work arounds to play? (Submitted by cmitch)

BD: Get back to writing that NaNoMo novel I started.

Bdidde’s question for the next champ…

Q: Charles Nesson, a Harvard Law school prof has started advocating the use of poker as a way to teach strategic thinking. He has proposed that the current presidential candidates play a tourney with WPT-style hole card cams (I saw him propose this while being interviewed on the Colbert report, but he seemed totally serious about it).

-so-

If Romney, McCain, Guliani, Obama, Clinton and Edwards sat down for a six-handed shootout, who would win? Who would Gigli?
